The Links, Incorporated - Kent Area Chapter's Charitable Contribution to International Institute of Akron

AKRON, OH — Demonstrating their unwavering commitment to community service and support for global communities, the Kent Area Chapter of The Links Incorporated recently made a generous donation to the International Institute of Akron (IIA). For over 100 years, the IIA has played a crucial role in welcoming immigrants and refugees to Akron, offering vital services such as employment assistance, language education, job skills training, and social services. These efforts help newcomers from various countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Iraq, Burma, Iran, and others, to adapt and flourish in their new environment.

The donation, consisting of 21 blankets collected during a recent chapter meeting, symbolizes the chapter's dedication to making a positive impact both locally and globally. This initiative is spearheaded by the International Trends & Services facet of the chapter, known for its focus on addressing the needs and issues of the global community.

The success of this endeavor is attributed to the collective efforts and leadership within the Kent Area Chapter. Special recognition is given to the chapter members for their coordination, leadership, and identification of the International Institute of Akron as a new community partner. Their participation and continuous support, along with the generous contributions of the entire chapter, are commendable.

The Kent Area Chapter of The Links Incorporated proudly upholds the organization's mission of "Linked in Friendship, Connected in Service." This recent collaboration with the International Institute of Akron is a testament to their commitment to enriching lives and fostering a sense of unity and support for those starting anew in our community.
