Catherine McKinley Photography captures The Kent Area Chapter of The Links, IncorporatedOfficial Chapter Portrait and tells a story with her lens at the 10th Annual Friendship Luncheon Fundraiser, November 1st, 2025.

When guests and members of our chapter gathered for this year’s Friendship Luncheon, the atmosphere radiated warmth and purpose. Through her lens, photographer Catherine McKinley captured not just images—but the very heart of the occasion.

“It was truly a privilege,” Catherine shared. “The room was filled with genuine connection. Every embrace, smile, and shared laugh carried meaning. My goal was to preserve that feeling—so when people look back, they remember the kindness and unity that defined it.”

For nearly two decades, Catherine has built her photography business on this principle: creating images that feel alive and emotionally genuine. From weddings to global travel, and now to our own community celebrations, she brings an artist’s eye and a storyteller’s soul. “I stepped out on faith to start Catherine McKinley Photography and never looked back,” she said. “No matter where I go, my vision stays the same—capturing authentic beauty in the moments that matter most.”

Her talent extends beyond events; it intersects deeply with our chapter’s commitment to youth development through photography. “Photography gives people, especially youth, a voice that transcends words,” she said. “It lets them share how they see the world—and in doing so, they learn that their perspective matters. It’s a creative outlet, yes, but also a form of legacy-building.”

As a professional, Catherine is drawn to the quiet power of community-centered events. “I find the most meaningful images in small, sincere gestures—a hand on a shoulder, a spontaneous laugh, a glance filled with gratitude. These aren’t just photos; they’re glimpses of who we are together.”

To young photographers, especially those in our program, Catherine offers this advice: “Lead with curiosity and compassion. Don’t chase perfection—chase truth. Light, expression, movement—these are your tools. But your empathy is the art.”

Her words—and her work—remind us that photography isn’t just about preserving a moment. It’s about honoring it. “Photography is more than an image—it’s an act of remembrance,” she reflected. “Every person, every story deserves to be seen with empathy and artistry.”
